Approve, by motion, the 2025 City Council meeting calendar.
Background/Discussion
Per state law, the schedule of the City Council's meetings must be kept on file with the Office of the City
Clerk and posted on the city's bulletin board. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of
each month.
Board of Appeal Meeting Date
Sherburne County selected Monday, April 7, 6:00 p.m. for the Board of Appeal meeting. This happens to be a
regular City Council meeting night. Historically, we have held the Board of Appeal meeting on the second
Monday of April, but this does not work for the county. They offered to schedule Monday, April 21 (another
City Council meeting night, which would be more difficult to cancel as it would be our typical review of
planning items) or Wednesday, April 16. All with 6:00 p.m. start times. Would Wednesday, April 16 work for
the Board of Appeal meeting?
Council Retreat Meeting Date
Historically, the City Council has held this meeting on the fourth Monday of April from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Would Monday, April 28 work to schedule this meeting?
Note the following changes to regularly scheduled meetings:
■ EDA and City Council meetings were moved from January 20 to January 21 due to Martin Luther King
Jr. Day.
■ EDA and City Council meetings moved from February 17 to February 18 due to Presidents' Day.
■ HRA and City Council meetings were moved from September I to September 2 due to Labor Day.
■ Utilities Commission moved from June 10 to June 3 due to a conference and November I I to
November 12 due to Veterans Day.
■ The Planning Commission moved from December 23 to December 16.
