Select a council member to serve on the steering committee for the 2024 Downtown Small Area Plan.
Background/Discussion
The project timeline and meetings are taking shape with the selection of Bolton and Menk, Inc., as the city's
consultants for the 2024 Downtown Small Area Plan. One of the project's important components is forming a
steering committee to aid in the development of the plan. The steering committee will meet regularly,
approximately every one to two months, and their feedback will be incorporated throughout the process.
The committee will include seven members - one member from the City Council, the Planning Commission,
the Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and the Heritage Preservation Commission, two downtown
business representatives, and one at-large community member.
Staff requests the Council nominate one member to serve on the steering committee. Meeting dates and
times will be scheduled based on the availability of the committee members.
