ELK aIVER PARK BOAnD NEETING
HELD IN THE VILLAGE OFFICE BUILDING
June 13, 1973 at 7:30 PM.
BOARD KEl"lBEl1S PRESENT: Chairman Les Derr, Gene Schuldt, Duane Becklin
Les Derr reported that at a special meeting on June 7th, permission
was granted to St. Andrews Church group to use Orono Park on Sunday,
June 24th.
Request for use of softball feilds by the VJoman's Softball League for
a tournament on July 21st and the 22nd was reviewed and granted.
Request for use of softball feilds by the Elk River Slow Pitch League
for a tournement on August 24, 25, and 26th was reviewed and granted
providing no conflicts with the fast pitch league.
Request for use of softball feilds by the Eagles Club for a tournement
on July 28 and 29th was reviewed and granted providing no conflict
with the slow pitch or fast pitch leagues.
All groups hosting softball tournaments "dll have to provide for the
maintenence of the feilds.
No further business, the meeting adjourned.

l1EMBERS PRESENT: Les Derr, Gene Schuldt, Duane Becklin, Shirley
Matinisky, Gene Scribner.
GUESTS: Dick Hales.
Les Derr distributed copies of up to date financial report.
Gene Schuldt reported his meeting l.t'lith United Fund Board. He
stated that the United Fund "would be \"lilling to provide some funds
for Recreation, but a financial request vlOuld have to be made.
Less Derr presented copies of the agreement between the Park Board
and the School District for leasing the school property. One
correction in the agreement was the insertion of Elk River Park Board
instead of Village of Elk River.
Dick Hales reported that the Babe Ruth League is going well. More
volunteers are offering to help. Four games have been rescheduled
with the Monticello Babe B.uth League.
A formal request for additional funding from the Greater Elk River
United Way was dra\"lD up. Total amount requested was $1,000.00 with
the breakdo"ltm as follows: Summer Recreation $200.00, Boy's Football
$300.00, Indoor Winter Sports $200.00, Swimming Program $300.00.
Next meeting scheduled for July 1$, 1973 at 7: 30 Pl'.l.
