ELK RIVER PARK BOARD MEETING
HELD IN THE VILLAGE OFFICE BUILDING
July 18, 1973 at 7:30 PM.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Les Derr, Gene Schuldt, Dwane Becklin.
MEMBERS ABSENT: none.
GUESTS: Stan 140reland; Jaycees, Dick Hales, Babe Ruth League.
Mr. Murray Mills, representing chur.ch youth group, requested permission to hold tent
meetings in Orono Park for approximately one week commencing July 23rd. Park Board was
unanimous in their approval. Les Derr will accompany Mr. Mills to the park to point out
the most suitable site.
BABE RUTH LEAGUE: Stan Moreland and Dick Hales requested use of a ball diamond limer
for use during a tournament commencing Thursday night, July 20th. Park Board approved
bill for $133.00 for purchase of additional equipment, and reimbursement to Stan Moreland
for $141.08 insurance cost.
Les Derr reported that the Greater Elk River United Fund donated a check for $1000.00 for
use in athletic and recreational activities. Les Derr sent a thank you letter in return.
Next meeting will be held Wednesday, August 22nd.
