ELK RIVER PARK BOARD MEETING

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Les Derr, Gene Schuldt, Shirley Matuseski, Gene Scribner,
Duane Becklin.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Gary Pestello.
GUESTS: Dick Hales, Mayor Cliff Lundberg.
ELK RIVER FAST PITCH LEAGUE: Secretary Schuldt read a letter from the Fast Pitch League
requesting $56.00 to pay the balance of their umpire fees for the season. Shirley Matuseski
moved, Gene Scribner seconded that we pay the $56.00 requested. Unanimously passed.
FOOTBALL PROGRAM: Bill for insurance had not yet been received.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Copies of financial report, dated Oct. 3, 1973, were distributed.
Balance showed was $1,241.53, but the following bills had not been received: July 4th
lifeguard ($50.00), football insurance ($400.00) ,and Babe Ruth Charter for 1974 ($40.00).
BABE RUTH LEAGUE: Dick Hales reported participation by communities: Elk River 33. Rogers
8, Dayton 6, Nowthen 1. It was estimated that total cost (insurance and equipment) per
participation for this year and for next year. Dick Hales requested payment for the 1974
charter cost at this time. The request had been approved at a previous meeting, further
approval was not necessary. Plans for additional boys league (ages 7 to 12) were outlined.
General discussion was held on possible limits, authority, legal procedures, and operating
guidelines for Recreation Committee to adopt for future needs.
Next meeting set for Tuesday, November 20, 1973 at 7:30 PM. at the Village Office.
