ELK RIVER PARK BOARD MEETING
HELD IN THE VILLAGE OFFICE BUIDLING
November 20, 1973 at 7:30 P.M.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Les Derr, Dwaine Becklin, Gene Schuldt.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Gary Pestello, Shirley Matuseski, Gene Scribner.
GUESTS: Mayor Cliff Lundberg.
Mayor Lundberg distributed copies of proposed amendments to the existing
Village Ordinance, Chapter 9.02 which would grant additional powers to the
Park Board. In general,the amendments provide powers for creation and
operation of a Recreation Committee.
Discussion was held on possible ways to operate the Summer Recreation
program, which has been the most difficult recreation program to run.
Les Derr reported that he had talked to School Superintendent George
Zabee about the possibility of the school administration running it,
and Mr. Zabee voiced approval of the idea. Les Derr will contact Mr.
Zabee again.
Discussion was held on possible sites for park and recreation expansion,
but no specific recommendations were made.
No further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. Next meeting
tentatively set for January 10, 1974.
