ELK RIVER PARK BOARD
July 16, 1974 at 7:00 P.M.
Members Dresent: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Ji.m.Bredick,

Guests: Mayor Cliff Lundberg, John Dietz
BALL FIE}~DS: John Dietz presented a list of ite~ on both ball fields
that the softball leagues feel need repair or replacing. Because of the
closing of the concession stand there will be a shortabe of funds in
league treasurery'fast pitch league) to pay expences. Park Board
will consider paying light bill and the scorekeeper at end of season.
It was suggested that they seek funds from Elk River United fund.
un GUAIW SERVICE: Ma~r lund~erg asked if it were possible to provide
lifeguards on Sundays. Since there are only a few Sundays left in this years
beach operation, it was decided not to change the schedule. A new
policy w:.ll be discussed for next year.

OUTDOOR ~10IJ..ETS.:Jim Bsre~ick will check into cost of vault toilets such
as are pr~serttlyused in Ba.bcock Park. Current bathroom facilities
in Orono Park are inadequate.
f!EPLACEMl;NT OF LIGHTS: Bill Patenaude, Utilities Dept., has been authorized
to replaee burnt out lights at the main ball park. Cost of labor and
equipment will be approxil'na.tely $500.00
GENERAL DISCUSSION: was held with Hayor Lundberg on Various problems and needs
confronting the Park Board. Included"were: beer licenses at Orono park
and mainbaU park, developing old Elk River dump area in~o I"ecreational use,
landactiv1.ti.es for parks, new public boat launching, and nUt years
budget.
Next meeting set for 'l'uesday, August 6, 7;:00 P.M. at the City Hall.
