The City suggested using the beach house for storage. Volley Ball equipment found. Stored in City garage. Skiing Committe, Dr. Travis, Bob Dare, John Bailey Jr. are going to get together to loqkinto 'areE for cross country skiing. Ice Arena-$410 Annual premium for insurance. A no vote was given and Dave Halgren informed an annual premium is trying to be To:tmd for all activities. Bill to be approved to Chanhassen Dinner Club $525.60. Bob Westerlund brought up basketball and football Leagues for men. 3 Seperate bills ,Orono Park, Concession; stang., 1 'and' Baseball field. Shirley Matchinsky made a motion to pay the utility bills, $86.38,$37.46,$152.15. Bob Westerlund seconded it. We invited them back approxim~tely in January to settle the matter of running the ball leagues so no problems will arise again. Next Heeting November 19,1974 at 7:00~)0'clock. Meeting adjourned. ~ ELK RIVER PARK BOARD October 8, 1974 MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Bob Westerlund. MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Bredeck GUESTS: Mr. Roy Sparre, Lawrence Kreger. PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT: Approximately $1,178.00 worth of playground eqUi~ent ordered for Orono Park. Lions Club will provide at least $1,000.00 for this equipment. This will include 6-unit swing set, 8ft. high slide, and a muth-climb. Park Board will pay freight charges and balance over Lions amount. 1975 BUDGET: Proposed budget for 1975 submitted to City Council on October 7, 1974. Total amount was $13,965.00, which includes $4,500.00 for new toilets in Orono Park and the Main Ball Park. Council expressed approval. 1974 EXPENDITURES: List of proposed expenditures for balance of this year was also presented to the City Council for their information. Approval was expressed, Total expenditures proposed was $3,775.00. OOAT LAUNCHING SITE: Mr. Sparre inquired as to when the present boat launching site would be closed and a new one opened. He was advised that the new site was expected to be done this fall. Permit from State Game and Fish Dept. must be obtained. RESUR.1"ACING BASEBALL DIAMONDS: Lawrence Kreger will grade, lime, and re-sod both baseball infields for $2,200.00. The re-sodding will be done on the main ball park. Work expected to be finished by November 1, 1974. Next meeting will be November 19, 1974 at 9:00 P.M. following the Joint Recreation Board meeting.
