06-06-2022 TER MINSpecial Meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Subcommittee Monday, June 6, 2022 Members Present: Jennifer Wagner, Charlie Blesener, Debbi Rydberg (4:43 pm), and Communications Director, Kaylin Clement (via Zoom) Members Absent: None Staff Present: Economic Development Director, Brent O'Neil; Economic Development Intern, Joshua Mollan Others Present: None 1. Call Meeting to Order/Roll Call Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Sub -Committee was called to order at 4:05 pm by Jennifer Wagner. 2. Consider Agenda Moved by Charlie and seconded by Kaylin to approve the agenda. Motion carried 3-0. 3. Update on OrangeBall Creative's Work and Review Print Materials Brent shared a draft poster featuring the theme of `Take 5 on 169', and a document of other brand messaging generated by Orange Ball Creative to determine future marketing direction. Charlie suggested keeping the tone of the material lighthearted and/or funny to better engage the viewers. Brent shared a bi-fold pamphlet also generated by Orange Ball. The committee members determined that the pamphlet has too many words and too many maps. Jennifer suggested including a QR code to direct to the MNDOT webpage with video and other information. (Debbi joined the meeting at 4.43 pm.) Brent discussed what involvement the committee would like to have with decision - making going forward. Charlie expressed he is comfortable with staff and the chamber to move forward with communications and decisions with Orange Ball. Jennifer l the meeting at 5.05 pm.) Charlie stated that he does not want Orange Ball to be in charge of creating and distributing maps for drivers. Brent shared that he plans to bring the Together Elk River Committee structure and format to the attention of the EDA at the next meeting on June 20, 2022. (Charlie left the meeting at 5.16 pm.) Debbi told the committee that the chamber will be posting the Orange Ball generated social posts on Tuesdays and Fridays. 4. Adjournment There being no further business, Kaylin Clement adjourned the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River sub -committee at 5:24 pm.
