04-17-2023 TER MINSpecial Meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Subcommittee Held at the Elk River City Hall Monday, April 17, 2023 Members Present: Jennifer Wagner, Charlie Blesener, and Debbi Rydberg Members Absent: None Staff Present: Economic Development Director Brent O'Neil, Economic Development Specialist Joshua Mollan, and Senior Communications Coordinator Starr Sorheim I . Call Meeting to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Subcommittee was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Jennifer Wagner. 2. Consider Agenda Moved by Charlie and seconded by Debbi to approve the agenda. Motion carried 3-0. 3. Consent Agenda Moved by Debbi and seconded by Charlie to approve: 3.1 March 20, 2023 Meeting Minutes Motion carried 3-0. 4. General Business 4.1 Billboard Content Plan Josh advised that the billboard is live with the "lanes closed" message. Josh has reached out to Franklin to swap art to match the schedule and ensure the correct billboards will be published as requested. Josh shared the billboard content calendar as well as the three new billboard pieces. The committee was in favor of no changes to the "Thursdays in Downtown Elk River" piece. Debbi suggested using photos from Highway 169 businesses as those are the ones impacted by 169 Redefine. Jennifer suggested using the colored Together Elk River logo as well as updating the saying to "We're still open!" Brent suggested using multiple photos to be rotated while this piece is published. The committee was in favor of no changes to the "Together Elk River: General" piece. Jennifer suggested making these pieces available for businesses as original and resized formats. Together Elk River Subcommittee Minutes Page 2 April 17, 2023 ----------------------------- 4.2 169 Construction Update Brent shared that the project has been top of mind for residents but not frustration. The committee suggested Starr to communicate to MnDOT to sign traffic changes appropriately. Debbi suggested sharing OrangeBall and other construction content to the multiple Elk River bulletin boards. As the city is advised not to post there, Debbi will post on behalf of the Chamber. 4.3 General Business and Upcoming Activities Brent advised that he is comfortable for future meetings to be held at 4:30 so as not to be as rushed. He also advised that staff are still requesting suggestions for potential subcommittee members. Jennifer suggested Joanna Arbic, and Molly Nadeau -Peterson. Debbi suggested someone from Cornerstone Automotive. Brent mentioned that there may be other activities for the subcommittee to take on this year. He suggested connecting with the DERBA Beautification Committee regarding downtown banners. S. Motion to Adjourn Moved by Charlie to adjourn the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Subcommittee.
