MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gene Schuldt, Ken Nelson, Bob Westerlund, Stand Moreland.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Bredeck.
GUESTS: Don Brindamour and Phil Johnson, Fast Pitch League.
SOFTBALL DIAMONDS. Discussion held on concession stand operation and ball field maintenance.
Ken Nelson expressed view that softball teams must take some responsibility for picking up
trash after games are over. It was pointed out that there were instances last year when no
attempt was made to pick up trash. Softball representatives were in favor of some kind of
enforcement. The softball representatives were in favor of Park Board taking over concession
stand. However, they would like to have the concession stand for weekend tournaments. That
was vetoed. Park Board would take over total control. Two employees will be sought under
CETA employment. Softball representatives will return to the next Park Board Meeting after
they meet with other league representatives. The Park Board will issue a letter to league
officers and team representatives outlining their responsibilities.
BOAT LAUNCHING RAMP. It was noted that the lake level will have to be lowered for dam
inspection and repair. The dates for this operation will be looked into so that .it can be
determined if the boat ramp can be buildt at the same time.
SUMMER PROJECTS. Back wall on Fairgrounds Park will be repaired. Bob Westerlund will
contact Harley Rohlf and get an estimate, without painting included.
PICNIC TABLES. Three new picnic tables have been made over the winter and will be put in
the park this spring.
