The minutes of the last meeting vvere read. Don Strei commented on the
diE3cussion of the by-lavJs and felt it vJaS not necessary to change them,
in regard to monthly meetin,gs. The minutes vTore approved by Don and
seconded by Les.
Bev Rude gave the treasurer's report. We have a balance currently of
$11,582.83. Bev reported a difference of $102.00 between the balance
in the checking book and the bank's statement, occuring before her term
as treasurer. Don moved that the $102.00 be assumed, that amount being
deducted from the current balance. Les seconded the motion and it passed.

The next order of business \.vas to discuss next year's budget and determine
the amount needed for Elk River recreation. This ec;timate 'tdll be
submitted to the city and t01tmship councils.
Don moved that the Hecreation Board contribute $125.00 to the Elk River
;:~eni()r Citizen;3 Club for their December dinner at the downto'0m Radisf3on.
I~nda seconded and the motion passed.
Bev moved that the Board sponsor a community trip to the Children's
Theater in December. It was suggested that Sharon Tracy would be
very capable in organizing this event. Bob Robideau offered his shop,
TrIe Clothesline, for sigrJ.ng up. Bob seconded the motion. The motion
passed.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 8 Bet 7:30 p.m. at the Senior
High School, Room 267.

ELK RIVER PARK BOARD MEETING
CITY HALL
OCTOBER 11, 1971
7:30 P.M.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair.man Gene Schuldt, Ken Nelson, Steve Ostby, Walt
Schumacker.
BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Stan Moreland
GUESTS: John Dietz, Marlon Glines, Softball Assoc. Rick Johnson, Jaycess.
Softball Association: John Dietz said the price of wooden poles for the softball field
was $568.75, delivered from Bell Lumber & Pole Co., New Brighten. Softball Association
will donate $300.00 toward purchase price of poles, and Park Board will pay for total
price of four poles. In the Spring of 1978 the Softball Association will install the
poles and hook up the lights. Also, in Spring 1978, the Softball Association will
provide $1,100.00 for purchase and installation of 4-inch well, with pressure tank and
submersible pump,for Orono Park. Well will be located outside the outfield fence. Two
checks $780.56 for light bill and $300.00 for light poles, were presented by the Softball
Association. Marlon Glines will order poles. Ostby moved, Schumacker seconded approved
of above arrangements. Unanimously passed.
Park Shelter Use: Rick Johnson, Jaycees, requested use of the park shelter for a
Halloween haunted house from Oct. 28th thru 31st. Motion by Ostby, seconded by Nelson
to grant use. Unamimously approved. Use will include power, to be donated by Park
Board.
