April 12, 1978 at 7:30 P.M.

Members Absent:
Ralph Brown.
Guests present:
Neil Larson.
Mayor Frank. Madsen, Kent Harrington, Craig SWanson, Jim Dingle,
Minutes of last meeting were lost and thus not read.
Ken Nelson questioned whether fence around Lake Orono could cane down.. Discussion of
whether Ken Nelson should maintain softball fields during sumner.
Kent Harrington discussed swirrming program for sumner. Cost of non-school part of
pool was listed on handout as $4000. for 10 weeks of sumner at 55 hours a week.
Corrmuni ty Education program will sponsor the swirrming lesson program during the sumner.
Open swirrming at beach on weekends will cost approximately $1500. Open swinming at
pool will be 2-4 pn five days a week and 7-9 two nights a week. Pool will charge
$20.00 membership for open swirrming. Elk River Rec Board will contribute up to $1500.
or open swirrming as needed. Beach would be open 2-9 on Saturday and Sunday for
10 weeks. First weekend in June to seconded weekend in August for beach opening.
As far as we know Ken Nelson will provide manpower to clean and groom softball parks
for sumner.
Pool program as stated above passed by majority.
Discussion of Ridgewood East park area with Neil Larson. He would like to give the
City some park land in Ridgewood East in exchange for the acres the City owns near the
state highway dept. building on Highway 169. Park Board will look at land and come
back with recorrmendation.
Meet Neil Larson next Tuesday, April 18th at Ridgewood East to inspect property.
Building inspector will inspect bleachers at Derr-Groupner field.
