Action Requested
Accept, by motion, the Safety Action Plan in accordance with the federal Safe Streets For All Program.
Background/Discussion
The City of Elk River was awarded a federal grant to conduct a Safety Action Plan through the Safe Streets for
All Program.
The plan takes a data-driven approach to crash reduction, identifying a high injury network of roads through
analysis of crash reports and robust community engagement.
The study incorporated our vulnerable population and identified safety strategies for roads, pedestrian
crossings, and walking/biking paths. As we look to the future, safety in our community is a top priority. This
plan marks our commitment to improving road safety and lays out proactive next steps.
