DISCUSSION:
Office walk-in traffic for February consisted of 124 customers, averaging 31 customers
per week over the four-week period.
ERMU disconnections for February: The Cold Weather Rule is in effect, meaning
customers cannot be disconnected until 30 days after they receive their disconnection
notice.
o Cycle 1 – No disconnections due to cold weather.
o Cycle 2 – No disconnections due to cold weather.
o Cycle 3 – No disconnections due to cold weather.
o Cycle 4 – 9 disconnections.
During the month of February 2025, the customer service team entered43payment
arrangements with customers. During February2024 there were 38 payment
arrangements.
A significant amount of staff time is dedicated to the Advanced Metering Infrastructure
project, including daily follow-ups with customers and coordination with both internal
and external teams. Ongoing communication efforts aim to ensure water customers
schedule their meter replacements by April 1, 2025, to avoid additional service fees.
Staff completed a street and security light audit for residential and commercial
customers in Otsego, Dayton, and Elk River. Phase two, focusing on city-billed lights, will
begin in fall 2025.
An audit of customer accounts in Otsego was completed to verify accurate billing of
franchise fees.
The annual Minnesota Public Utilities Commission report, Distributed Energy Resource
Docket 25-10, has been submitted.
IT staff continue collaborating with Marco on security initiatives for 2025.
Currently there are eight active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under
construction in the ERMU service territory.
In the last 30 days, combined the level two charger located downtown and in the
parking lot in front of ERMU had 28sessions and provided customers with408 kWh of
green energy.
