Action Requested
Provide staff with direction regarding the use and improvement of the right-of-way providing access to Lake
Orono.
Background/Discussion
The Westwood Subdivision was recorded in 1994 and included a right-of-way that runs into Lake Orono,
providing access opportunities for the public. The right-of-way has not been improved since platting, and has
been mown by the adjacent property to the south. The adjacent property owner also entered into a license
agreement (attached) with the city for a shed which encroaches onto the city property - the shed was not
constructed by the current owner.
The community has expressed interest in improvements to the right-of-way to better facilitate access to the
lake.
Financial Impact
None
Mission/Policy/Goal
