DISCUSSION:
• The bill inserts for May 2025 are a new approach to promoting our commercial and
residential rebates by creating a one sheet that informs customers of all available
rebates rather than sending the application for an individual program. Communications
staff also employed a fun/eye catching image to make sure the insert stands out!
• In addition to the bill insert topic, social media posts this month feature the commission
meeting notice, National Electrical Safety Month, Drinking Water Week, the American
Public Power Association’s Certificate of Excellence in Reliability, and more.
• In partnership with the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association, ERMU hosted a free
OSHA-approved training session on Chemical Hazards and Hazard Communication on
April 29 at the field services building. Members of city maintenance staff attended.
• As part of ERMU’s ongoing education initiative, National Energy Foundation visited 4th-
grade students in our service territory from April 29 to May 1. This initiative, introduced
successfully in 2024, includes energy conservation presentations at Twin Lakes, Lincoln,
Parker, and Meadowvale Elementary Schools. Each student also receives an energy
saving kit to take home and teach their family what they have learned; Program picture
