Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Kayla Sarkilahti for the position of custodian effective May 20, 2025.
Background/Discussion
Kayla Sarkilahti started working for us on April 16, 2025, through Atlas Staffing to fill in for a custodian who
was on leave. That custodian resigned, and we would like to hire Ms. Sarkilahti to fill this position. In the
month that she's worked for us, she has proven to be a conscientious and hard worker.
Ms. Sarkilahti will start on May 20, 2025, at step A of the IUOE Local 49 contract. All pay and benefits will be
consistent with the union contract and city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
