Action Requested
Adopt, by motion, Resolution 25-25 designating parking restrictions in accordance with Municipal State Aid
design requirements for the Yale Court and Line Avenue Realignment Project.
Background/Discussion
To comply with Municipal State Aid design requirements, portions of the Yale Court and Line Avenue
Realignment Project are required to be signed as no parking. These areas include:
▪ Both sides of Dodge Avenue NW (State Aid Route No. 118) from 150’ N of 5th Street NW to 5th
Street NW
▪ Both sides of 5th Street NW (State Aid Route No. 117) from Dodge Avenue NW to Baldwin Avenue
NW
▪ The north side of 5th Street NW (State Aid Route No. 117) from Baldwin Avenue NW to Line
Avenue NW
▪ Both sides of 5th Street NW (State Aid Route No. 117) from Auburn Place NW to Line Avenue NW
▪ Both sides of Line Avenue NW (State Aid Route No. 136) from 5th Street NW to Xavier Circle

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River RESOLUTION
RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR THE YALE COURT AND
LINE AVENUE REALIGNMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS,the City has planned the improvement of Dodge Avenue NW (State Aid
Route No. 118) from 150’ N of 5th Street NW to 5th Street NW; and
WHEREAS,the City has planned the improvement of 5th Street NW (State Aid Route
No. 117) from Dodge Avenue NW to Line Avenue NW; and
WHEREAS,the City has planned the improvement of Line Avenue NW (State Aid Route
No. 136) from 5th Street NW to Xavier Circle; and
WHEREAS,these improvements do not provide adequate width for parking on one or
both sides of these streets in accordance with Municipal State Aid design requirements; and
approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid Street project must therefore
be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, as follows: that the City shall ban the parking of motor vehicles at all
times on the following roadway segments:
