Introduction
There is one vacancy on the Heritage Preservation Commission and staff has received two applications
for the position.
Discussion
Two members of the Heritage Preservation Commission did not request reappointment when their terms
expired February 28, 2006. Staff began advertising the HPC vacancies in January and as you are aware,
Council recendy appointed Stephen Rohlf to fill one of the vacancies. Staff continued to advertise the
remaining open seat and has received two applications. Per the Advisory Board and Commission Policy,
"Applicants will be interviewed ry the City Council to make board and commission appointments and reappointments. This
process will be conducted through secret ballot. "Both applicants are scheduled to be present at the March 20,
2006 Council meeting for interviews.

Action Requested
The Council is asked to interview the two applicants and if so desired, appoint one of the applicants to
the Heritage Preservation Commission for a three-year term to expire February 28, 2009.
