Approve, by motion, the Mineral Excavation license renewals for the following applicants valid to July1, 2026.
Martin Marietta Materials, Inc.
Holcim- MWR, Inc.
New Look Contracting d/b/a Superior Sand and Gravel
Plaisted Companies, Inc.
C.S McCrossan, Inc.
Knife River Corporation-North Central
Max Steininger, Inc.
Background/Discussion
The city issues licenses for mineral excavation on an annual basis. Seven mining operations have submitted
applications to renew their licenses, which are set to expire on July 1, 2025.
Site visits were performed at all mining locations to review application materials and inspect sites for
compliance with existing conditional use permits. No major concerns were observed during the review of
applications. Staff recommend approval to reissue all seven licenses.
Financial Impact
A total of $27,006.10 was collected from the 7 license applications.
