Hire IT Network Specialist

Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Jake Tourville to the position of IT Network Specialist effective June 17,
2025.
Background/Discussion
We went to market to fill our vacant IT Network Specialist position. We received 55 applications and
interviewed 11 candidates. Following second interviews and background and reference checks, we
recommend Jake Tourville for the position.
Mr. Tourville holds an AAS in Networking and Data Services from South Central College in Mankato where
he also worked as a IT lab assistant. He served as an artillery data systems operator in the Army National
Guard and has been working as a service desk technician II at the Mankato Clinic for the past year.
Mr. Tourville will start at step A for this position. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
