General Questions
■ Concrete: Do we want to maintain a consistent look with standard brushed
concrete, or explore opportunities to incorporate colors, textures, or other
decorative finishes in select areas of downtown?
■ Limits abutting structures on the property line: A concrete ribbon fronts most
older downtown buildings. We anticipate leaving it in place adjacent to structures to
avoid potential foundation impacts and provide a consistent project boundary.
Where it extends through green space and can be safely removed, we anticipate
removing it.
■ ADA Accessibility: We will make practical efforts to improve accessibility to
downtown businesses, but varying entrance elevations make full ADA compliance at
every doorway infeasible. We should discuss whether improvements should remain
within the public right-of-way or, where practical, extend onto private property
through temporary access agreements.
■ Electrical: In meeting with ERMU, we determined that reusing the existing lights
could save approximately $200,000-$300,000. ERMU would remove, store, and
clean the lights during construction, then reinstall them on new bases near project
completion. New underground wiring would be required through the project.
Further, would we like to install electrical outlets on every raised bed?
Location Specific Questions -See attachments
1 Are there any visions for the 7' strip added from the parking lot improvements?
Turf, mulch/shrubs, concrete with tree grates, etc.?
2 How about for the raised islands areas within the parking lot? Trees are
anticipated, but what fills the space around the trees is yet to be determined.
3 With the change to parallel the east side gets much better access, and we also
gain more room for larger planters/benches, as well as clear walk zone free of
any obstacles like light poles.
4 Reconstruction limits end just west of Parrish. We plan to mill/overlay old
pavement between Parrish/TH10.

5 Paver limits —Although some of these pavers extend outside our scope area, we
plan to remove and replace with concrete.
6 In the Downtown Master Plan, there was a concept for a turnaround. Is this
worth exploring?
7 Hatch this area like how it is now? No parking would be allowed, but
delivery/move-in trucks frequently utilize it. Otherwise, curb line could be
pushed north making this area inaccessible.
8 Paver limits proposed at red line. All pavers south of this line and into Rivers
Edge Park would remain.
9 In the Downtown Master Plan, there was a concept for a mini roundabout. Is this
worth exploring?

10 Pavers north of the red line are on private property and we are proposing leaving
them in place.
