Authorization to Hire T em orary Building Inspector
Introduction
On March 27, 2006 the City Council approved the hiring of a temporary building official for a six
month period of time ranging from mid-April until mid-October. Pay was set at $19.77 an hour,
with no benefits, and the goal was to have an individual with a Building Official-Limited license.
Discussion
Staff has interviewed and is recommending the hiring of Adam Mitlyng for the subject position.
Adam has the appropriate certification and will also be completing his Building Inspection
Technology degree at North Hennepin in May.
Financial Impact
Increased building revenue, based on a large number of commercial and institutional projects, will
cover the projected cost of this position.
