MINUTES OF ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION

Minutes of Meeting of December 27, 1965
All members of the Planning Commission with the exception of Dan Bailey
and H. L. Johnson were present at a noon meeting to discuss the planning
firms that had been interviewed in previous meetings.
While it was generally conceded that the qualifications of the firms seem
to be very similar it was the general feeling that the firm represented by
Mr. Knight was possibly more familiar with the surrounding area and
appeared to have more time at the present to devote to this particular
proj ect.
It was, therefore, moved by Mr. Gongo and seconded by Mr. Siegler that
the state department of Business Development be contacted to advise that
we wish to negotiate further with the firm of Nason, Law, Wehrman and
Knight and that the County Planning Board should be advised of this action.
Subsequent to the meeting the Secretary discussed this decision with Mr.
Kaliszewski of the Division of Community Planning in the Department of
Business Development.

He advised that he would go over the matter with Mr. Knight and that they
would be in touch as to how to proceed in drawing up a general plan for the
Village of Elk River.
Mr. Kaliszewski also recommended that we notify any other firms of our
decision in this matter.
