Larry Morrell appeared in regard to a warehouse and garage on Highway 101
opposite 7th and 8th streets. It was pointed out that a proposal in multiple
dwelling zoning would require a special use permit but if it were back from the
road 150 feet it would be in a light industrial section and only need a building
permit. No action was requested.
There was an examination of the first draft of a possible future land use plan.
Some of its features were the possibility of Highway :#lQ being upgraded to
freeway standards from Little Falls to the Metropolitan area. It seemed
likely that this would require a new route, probably north of the village. The
statement was made that the future of the present central business district
is perhaps ultimate extinction except as an office, bank, city center development.
