Minutes of Elk River Planning Commission
Special meeting held October 15, 1970. All members were present. It was
brought out that the zoning commissioner had turned down a request for a
special use permit for a certain manufacturing plant which was to be located
in the Flaherty Building at 631, Highway 10. The purpose of this meeting
was to review a letter received from Cahill Industries Incorporated whi ch
was appealing this decision and consideration was given to a possible variance
to the zoning regulations.
After considerable discussion, the motion was made by Gongoll and seconded
by Al Bailey and passed unaminously that the Elk River Planning Commission
recommend to the village council ,that they grant a variance for the location at
631 Highway 10 to operate an automobile brake shoe business as described in
the letter dated October 8, 1970 from Cahill Industries Incorporated as attached
and further that this should be a l~mited term agreement with a suggested three
year maximum and that off-street parking and storage should comply with the
ordinance in effect. The secretary was instructed to so inform the village
council.
