3. Larry Toth for Elk River Machine Co. Site Yard Variance
a. Variance to extend building five feet closer, from 20 feet
to 15 feet from side yard property line.
b. No one in the audience against variance.
c. Elk River Machine Co. plan at City Hall. Lar~7 Toth drew
a sketch for Chairman Fox.
d. Elk River Machine Co. owns property between the railroad and
pro~'erty line.
e. Closest point of building is over 100 feet to railroad (per Toth).
f. The easement for a new street will not be in jeopardy (because
of the 100 feet).

a. Site plan presented-- had building permit issued on the 14th
of blarch, 1979. At time of issu~~ce, informed City Hall that
the neighbor did not object. Old. garage to "be made into a room
and a new garage added.
b. Garage 13'6ffX24' viill be 5f6ft from lot line (shou.ld be at
least 10') overhang no included in 5'6?T.

City Hall. Webb was told that he was in error.
do Floyd Kober, Lot 11 (east siee), 18575 Simonet Drive, objected
to variance. Reasons: Too close and fire harard--experiments
in garage.
e. Joe Rosenthal, 18586 Simonet Drive objected. He indicated that
Webb knew of 10 foot requirement before he started building.
f. Garage footings are dug. No other work completed on the
garage.
g. Kober has a metal building 8x10 on his property, 2 feet
from Webb property.

5. Bruno Lenz Be-Zoning; Now 1-1; Limited Industry
a. Lenz had pencilled sketch of land he had o~~ed for 25 years.
His home was built April, 1970. Land was then 1-1.
b. Lenz must sell his present home, too large, wife sick,
can't keep up house.
c. Would like to build two homes; his and his son-in-law's.
d. Roger Jo~~son (neighbor) has miscellaneous iron shop;
was concerned with o~~ers of Lenz's new house in the future;
otherwise, no objection.
e. Across street ol~med b:)' General Irliils-1200 acres; 'to the I~rorth;
Cargill, Inc. Lenz o~~s farm, 68.55 acres.
f. Tow other neighbors attended; said nothing for or against.
g. Co~missioner Holmes--To rezone would hurt General Mills and
Cargill. Was in favor of a conditional use permit if both
sites 1tJould be 2-2:,. acres.

it would have to have another permit to have it rebuilt.
Herbert Adolphson suggested to Mr. Lenz that he have all legal

application for building permit.

lodge--1.1 acres.
Will need variance for:

Joe Bailey is now the o~~er of the property (p~esently).
Building would blend in with lodge and homes.
Proolem with parking.
Road not in, however, surveyed only, but can't change.
