Introduction
The Street Department has two truck cab and chassis on order, and has been reviewing bids from
vendors for truck bodies and snow plow equipment.
Discussion
Staff has considered the state bids of Aspen Equipment and] -Craft for the purchase of and installation of
snow plowing equipment and dump bodies for two new trucks. The state bid prices for two complete
truck equipment packages, including sales tax, are:
] -Craft
Aspen Equipment
$148,418.41
$149,013.30
I chose the above vendors because we now have Henderon plow equipment from Aspen and Falls plow
equipment from] -Craft. It makes sense to have uniformity with our equipment for multiuse and repair
parts inventories.
The two bids shown are with equal and comparable components. The fmal cost from] -Craft will be
$151,500, because I want to take advantage of a more expensive storage light system that is exclusive to]-
Craft and not available for other vendors to bid.
Financial Impact
Funds are budgeted in the 2006 equipment certificates.
