1. Call Meetina To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River
Economic Development Authority was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by President
Dwyer.

COMMISSIONER GONGOLL MOVED TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 24, 2000, EDA
AGENDA. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 6-0.
3.
Accept Resignation of Executive Director/Appoint New Executive Director
COMMISSIONER BENDER MOVED TO RELUCTANTLY ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PAUL STEINMAN EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 11, 2000. COMMISSIONER
GONGOLL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
COMMISSIONER KLINZING MOVED TO APPOINT PAT KLAERS AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
AND TO APPOINT MARC NEVINSKI AS ACTING DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT. COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 6-0.
4. Discuss Issues Reaardina Fillina the Director of Economic Development Position
President Dwyer informed the EDA that Commissioner Jeff Gongoll has indicated
his desire to apply for the position of Director of Economic Development. It was
suggested that Commissioner Gongoll be interviewed prior to the city spending
money on a search service consultant for this position.

COMMISSIONER BENDER MOVED TO SUPPORT JEFF GONGOLL IN HIS ENDEAVOR TO
APPLY FOR THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POSITION WITH THE CITY OF
ELK RIVER AND TO RECOMMEND THAT JEFF GONGOLL BE INTERVIEWED BY STAFF FOR
THE POSITION. COMMISSIONER KLINZING SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 5-0-1. Commissioner Gongoll abstained.

There being no further business, COMMISSIONER THOMPSON MOVED TO ADJOURN
THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 6-0.
The special meeting of the Elk River EDA was adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
