06-12-2000 EDA MIN e MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL MONDAY, JUNE 12, 2000 Members Present: President Dwyer, Commissioners Klinzing, Thompson, Motin, Farber, and Koenig (6:35) Members Absent: Commissioner Gongoll Staff Present: Marc Nevinski, Assistant Director of Economic Development; Catherine Mehelich, Director of Economic Development; Pat Klaers, City Administrator; and Sandra Peine, City Clerk 1. Call Meeting To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority was called to order at 6 p.m. by President Dwyer. 2. Consider Aaenda COMMISSIONER KLINZING MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/12/00 EDA AGENDA. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. e 3. Consider Consent Aaenda COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6112/00 CONSENT AGENDA AS FOLLOWS: 3.1. 5/8/00 MEETING MINUTES - APPROVED 3.2. CHECK REGISTER - APPROVED COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 4. Open Mike No one appeared for open mike. 5. Appoint Executive Director COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO APPOINT CATHERINE MEHELlCH AS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 6. Consideration of Vertical Publishina for Incubator Proaram e Assistant Director of Economic Development Marc Nevinski indicated that Vertical Publishing has requested consideration for admittance to the Business Incubator Program. He indicated that the Incubator Advisory Board reviewed the Economic Development Authority Meeting June 12.2000 Page 2 e application and is recommending that Vertical Publishing be approved to enter the Business Incubator Program. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION FROM VERTICAL PUBLISHING FOR ADMITTANCE TO THE BUSINESS INCUBATOR PROGRAM. COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. Commissioner Koenig arrived at this time (6:35 p.m.) 7. Presentation of Strateaic Industrial Marketina Plan Marketing Consultant Anita Duckor presented the completed Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan to the EDA. President Dwyer thanked Anita Duckor for her assistance with the project and thanked the members of the EDA Strategic Planning Committee. President Dwyer suggested that the EDA be presented with a monthly update regarding progress that has been made on the Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan. COMMISSIONER KLINZING MOVED TO ACCEPT THE STRATEGIC INDUSTRIAL MARKETING PLAN AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. e President Dwyer requested staff to come back to the EDA with a work plan for the next six months addressing issues identified in the Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan, including a timeframe on what is to be accomplished, and completion dates. 8. Other Business There was no other business. 9. Adiournment There being no further business, COMMISSIONER KOENIG MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION.
