Attached for your review is a letter from Jackie Schuelien
which briefly reviews the schedule for the Chamber meeting on

thinking about topics that they would like to speak on at this
Chamber meeting. Generally, each Councilmember is allowed

Dear Pat:
The chamber's January meeting traditionally centers around city government
and generally has been known as "The State of the City".
Continuing that tradition, I am pleased to invite the City Council to be
our guests for dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 1993 at Elk
River Country Club. This invitation would also include Bill Rubin and
yourself. (Spouses are also welcome at a cost of $10.)
This chamber meeting offers an opportunity to introduce the new mayor and
council to the business community, as well as underscore an open working
relationship between us.
.As in the past, we would anticipate a presentation on projects and plans
for Elk River, presently, for the next year and beyond. A question/answer
period usually follows the individual presentations.
It might be good information to hear about state aid to cities and how that
impacts commercial property taxes.
The meeting is preceded by a social hour at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30
and the program at 7:30. Chamber business should take about 10 minutes and
then our president, Steve Pattison, will turn the program over to whomever
will orchestrate the city presentation.
Please call me with the list of reservations (and names) by January 13.
I am available to discuss any details regarding the format that the council
would like to have clarified.
We are looking forward to sharing this time together to listen and learn
more about the "State of the City".
Sincerely,
J&.~)
