CITY ENGINEER PRESENTATION OF
SERVICES
The City Council has never annually appointed its City
consultants. All of the City consultants serve at the pleasure
of the City Council. The City uses consultants for many
services including legal, engineering, planning, environmental
(Liesch and Associates, Inc.), parks (Bill Sanders), economic
development (Mike Mulrooney), and for our City audit.

One of the consultants that we see most frequently is our City
Engineer, Terry Maurer, from Maier Stewart and Associates. As
the City Council has three new members, Councilmember Holmgren
felt that it would be appropriate to have Terry Maurer make a
presentation to the City Council to review the scope of
services that he provides the City of Elk River. Mayor
Duitsman is a new member of the Council, but has had experience
with Terry Maurer during his previous terms on the City Council
as Terry has been with the City since the late 1970's.
At this January 4, 1993, City Council meeting, Terry Maurer
will make a presentation on the services that Maier Stewart and
Associates provides Elk River. Terry currently has about 35
active files on the City of Elk River for projects that are
being worked on or that have been initiated by the City and are
"on hold" until the appropriate time to move forward with
them. Most of the ongoing projects relate to the Capital
Improvement Program and background work in anticipation of a
project taking place. Other ongoing projects are for work that
takes more than one year to complete such as the Main Street
bridge replacement project or the Jackson/Highway 169 signal
project.
