3/8/93 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
FOLLOWING THE EDA MEETING
DATE:
SUBJECT:
At the last Park and Recreation Commission meeting 3/3/93, a
discussion took place regarding this upcoming City Council
meeting. A joint meeting with the Park and Recreation
Commission and the City Council was scheduled for 3/8/93.
However, due to the length of the Park and Recreation
Commission discussion items with the City Council, and due to
the anticipated length of the EDA meeting plus the number of
the City Council issues that need to be addressed before a
joint meeting with the Park and Recreation Commission can take
place, the Commission agreed to cancel its meeting with the
City Council on 3/8 and to try for a joint meeting on another
date. A suggested date for the City Council is Wednesday,
3/31/93 at the "Aprilll Park and Recreation Commission meeting.
.
In general, the Commission felt that they needed an hour and
half to two hours with the City Council to discuss Park and
Recreation Commission issues. After looking at the EDA and
City Council agendas for 3/8/93, the Commission felt that they
would not be able to begin their discussion with the Council
until at least 9:00 p.m. or so. This assumption, compounded by
the Council getting together at 5:45 p.m. for a special
meeting, helped make the decision easy for the Commission to
seek out another date for a joint meeting with the City Council.
