Dear Ms Johnson:
The School Board ofISD 728 met on Monday, May 8,2006, and approved police liaison
services with the Elk River Police Department (City of Elk River) for the 2006-07 school
year. The approval for the Elk River Schools is for the same services that were provided
this year by your department. The contract rate was increased to $50,000 ($25,000 per
officer) to be more in line with what was being paid to Hennepin County for its services
at our Rogers Schools. Next year, we plan to meet with all the governance units that
service our district with police liaison services and come to a better or more unified!
systematized service, including how we allocate monies (per pupil, per school, per
officer). In order to be more consistent, this could include reduction in district monies for
these services.
This serves as notice of our agreement with you for next year. We would appreciate a
signed agreement/acceptance of this being sent back to us---either a separate document or
a signing off on this letter.
We do appreciate your services, what you do for students, and the benefits that we
receive as a district. Thanks much! !! If you have questions, please contact me at
763-241-3401.
Sincerely,
~ .':)
