Update on Rivers Edge Commons
Discussion
The low bid for Rivers Edge Commons was substantially over the cost estimate. Staff and consultants
have been looking at ways to reduce costs while at the same time retaining the integrity of the original
concept. A revised plan (attached) reduces the width of the park by retaining the existing ally, and uses
limestone blocks for seating instead of poured in place concrete. This plan retains the high-end feel of the
street level plaza.
Changes in the plan will necessitate this project to be re-bid. Cost estimates are currently being prepared
and staff will return to Council for authorization to bid.
