Treatment Plant Operator. The 1993 pay range is as follows:
Starting - $10.52
Step I - $11.06
Step II - $11.98
Step III - $12.67
Step IV - $13.34
Step V - $14.04

Summary Description
Under the direction of the Waste Water Treatment Systems
superintendent, conduct water, wastewater, treatment plant and
collection system operations. As directed, perform city
maintenance operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
1.) Wastewater Processing -- Operate wastewater treatment
plant; conduct routine wastewater tests; conduct bacterial
analysis; conduct advanced wastewater chemical tests;
interpret results; and initiate necessary process changes
with approval of superintendent or lead operator in his
absence.

2.) Sludge -- Operate sludge handling systems; apply sludge on
land.

Qualifications
1.) Education -- High school education or equivalent.
2.) Specific Skills -- Working knowledge of municipal
wastewater and sludge treatment plant operations preferred.
Must be able to do light mechanical repair. Ability to
obtain a Minnesota Class B driver's license within six
months.
3.) Experience -- Have a m~n~um of a Class D Waste Water
Operators Certificate.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR
The City of Elk River is accepting applications for the
position of Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Minnesota Class D Wastewater Certificate or the
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $10.52/Hour. CLOSING DATE: Completed
