ITEM 9.4.
TO:
MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM:
PATRICK KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR
DATE: APRIL 29, 1993
SUBJECT: ORONO 3RD ADDITION SURVEY
As a follow-up to the 4/1/93 neighborhood meeting on possible
municipal improvements in the Orono 3rd Addition, the City sent
out a survey to all home owners within the Orono 1, 2, and 3
Additions. The results of this survey are in the attached memo
from the City Engineer. Overwhelmingly, the residents in the
Orono 3rd Addition did not desire any municipal improvements at
this time. In order to bring this issue to a conclusion, it is
recommended that the City Council formally approve a motion
that rejects the proposal of installing municipal improvements
into the Orono 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Additions with the exception
of the properties along Fresno Street.

RE: ORONO LAKE ADDITION SURVEY
Dear Me. KJaers:
As you are aware, approximately three weeks ago we mailed surveys to all properly owners in
Orono Lake I, ill, and III Additions. This Jeller is intended to summarize the results of that
survey.
TIlece were a total of 66 mailings to lhe properties in these three additions. Of the 66 mailed,
28 have been returned. This represents approximately 42%.
With regard to the first question on the survey, which asked for interest in having the City go
further with the process of evaluating the extension of urban services into the Orono Lake area,
22 (78.5%) were opposed to improvements in the area. Six (21.5%) were in favor of
improvements in the area. The property owners that returned the questionnaires are shown by
shading on the attached exhibit. Also altached is a complete set of all surveys that were
returned.
If you have any questions regarding this information, please call.
Sincerely,
MAIER STEWART & ASSOCIATES, INC.
