SUBJECT: EASEMENT VACATION FOR A PORTION
OF UPA DRIVE BY THE CITY OF ELK
RIVER/PUBLIC HEARING, CASE NO.
EV 93-02
REQUESTED ACTION
The request before the City Council is to vacate that portion
of UPA Drive adjacent to the old City Hall site at the
intersection of Highway 10 and Main Street. The reason for the
easement vacation is to allow the sale of the property to
United Power Association (UPA).

The parcel UPA wishes to purchase will need to be created
through a plat. This plat will be considered by the City
Council at their June 7, 1993, meeting at 7:00 p.m. to be held
at Elk River City Hall. Staff recommends the Council opens the
public hearing on the vacation and continue it until the
meeting at which the plat will be considered. This way the new
platted legal description of the parcel can be used for the
easement vacation.
