Mr. Steve Ach

Dear Steve,
It was a pleasure meeting with you last Thursday, May 20, 1993,
to discuss the City of Elk River in general and, specifically,
the Elk River City Planner position. This meeting was held as
a follow up on the Elk River City Council's unanimous decision
on 5/17/93 to offer you the Elk River City Planner position.
Per our discussion, the City of Elk River is prepared to offer
you the City Planner position with the following considerations:
e
- Annual pay of $40,000 per year.
- A six month probationary period...There will be no wage
increase at the end of your probationary period, but you
will be eligible for the same cost of living increases
that the majority of City employees are anticipated to
receive on 1/l/94...Also you will be eligible to use
accumulated vacation time during your probationary period.
- Begin accumulation of vacation at the rate of three weeks
per year.
- Begin work with 30 days sick time "in the bank".
- Attendance at State and National Conference consistent
with other City department and division heads.
- Education and tuition reimbursement consistent with what
is provided to all City employees.
- The City employee benefits package that is provided to our
City employees which was outlined in the material that you
picked up last Thursday.
- A starting date with the City on Monday, June 28, 1993.
As we discussed, I would like to advise the City Council as to
your status on Tuesday evening, May 25, 1993. I believe that
the City Planner position is going to be a challenging and
exciting position for you, and that your expertise in the
planning profession will greatly benefit the City of Elk
River. I look forward to hearing from you on your final
decision regarding this position.
e
Very truly yours,
Iif~()? y~
