RE: CHERRYHILL BLUFFS 2ND ADDITION
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
Dear Council Members:
We have completed preparation of plans and specifications for Phase I of Cherryhill Bluffs 2nd Addition.
One change in these plans and specifications from the feasibility study concerns the alignment of the
sanitary sewer. After minor revisions to the developer's grading plan and an investigation of the depth
of the gas line crossing the property, it was determined that the sanitary sewer could be designed flowing
entirely to the east to Dodge Avenue. The feasibility study had anticipated a possible alignment to the
south along Trunk Highway 169 to the southwest corner of the MnDOT property.
Since the City Council's May 17th meeting, we have received a letter from MnDOT confirn1ing their
willingness to release the sn1a1l portion of land that they owned for the previous access onto Trunk
Highway 169. However, this will likely take SOll1e time. As indicated to the City Council previously,
we believe the final plat will be prepared excluding lots that are affected by this MnDOT property.
After the release of this property is completed, these lots can be replatted as the second phase.
Attached for the City Council's consideration is a draft resolution approving the plans and specifications
and ordering the advertisement for bids. This coincides with the schedule presented in the feasibility
study anticipating a late June bid and awarding of the contract at the first City Council nleeting in July.
If you have any questions, I will be in attendance at your Monday, June 7th, City Council meeting.

RESOLUTION 93 -
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
IN THE MATTER OF THE CHERRYHILL BLUFFS 2ND ADDITION
IMPROVEMENT OF 1993
WHEREAS pursuant to Resolution 93-24, the Project Engineer has prepared plans and specifications
for the Cherryhill Bluffs 2nd Addition improvement, which plans and specifications have
been reviewed by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference, are hereby approved.
2. The City Administrator shall prepare and obtain the publication of an advertisement for bids for
the making of the improvement pursuant to the attached plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published once each week for three consecutive weeks, shall specify the
work to be done, and shall state that the bids will be received by the City Administrator until
10:00 a.m. on June 30, 1993, at which time the bids will be publicly opened in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall by the City Administrator and the Project Engineer and will then be
tabulated for consideration by the City Council at a meeting thereof at 7:00 o'clock p.m. on July
5th, 1993, in the City Council chambers at City Hall. No bids will be considered unless sealed
and filed with the City Administrator and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid
bond, or certified check payable to the City Administrator in the amount of 5 % of the amount
of such bid.
