SUBJECT: UTILITY BILLING UPDATE
On AprilS, 1993, the Elk River City Council requested that Elk
River Municipal Utilities take over garbage billing for the
City of Elk River. A start up date goal was established as
September 1, 1993, by the Council. Everything appears to be on
schedule for the September 1, deadline. Elk River Municipal
Utilities has already implemented many of the software changes
and is in the long process of adding new customers and
information to their system. I am in the process of writing an
article for the August edition of "The Current" notifying
residents of this change. Each homeowner will also be sent a
direct mailing near the middle of August concerning the change
in the utility billing program. I will continue to keep you
updated on the progress of the garbage billing switch
throughout the upcoming weeks.
