SUBJECT: PAY ESTIMATE BOR-SON CONSTRUCTION
At last Monday's Council meeting the City Council tabled
approval of a Pay Estimate in the amount of $57,990.10 to
BOR-SON Construction. Since that time, staff has had several
discussions with Eos and BOR-SON regarding the items yet to be
completed. Most of the items yet to be completed relate to the
Police facility; however, there have been ongoing concerns and
problems with the heating and ventilation in the entire
building. A list of concerns has been provided to both Eos and
BOR-SON. James Ericson of BOR-SON indicated that he was
unaware of some of the problems. However, now that he has a
written list he will make every effort to get the items
completed as soon as possible.

The City is holding retainage on the building in the amount of
$53,653.86. This amount should be adequate to cover the items
that need to be corrected or completed. Also, the contract sum
to date is $2,168,193. The amount completed and stored to date
is $2,146,127.86. That leaves a balance of $22,065.14 or a
total of $75,719.00 in retainage plus the balance to finish.
As I stated earlier, this balance should be adequate to cover
the outstanding items.
