FROM:
MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
LORI JOHNSON, FINANCE DIRECTOR1f~
DATE: SEPTEMBER 23, 1993
SUBJECT: PRESENTATION BY DAN GREENE
REGARDING INSURANCE RENEWALS
The City's property, liability, worker's compensation, and
general insurance are up for renewal on October 1, of each
year. At last Monday's Council meeting, the City Council
approved payment to the League of Minnesota Cities for worker's
compensation insurance for the upcoming year. At this Monday's
Council meeting, Dan Greene, of First National Insurance, will
meet with the City Council to present the results of requests
for quotes on the remainder of the City's insurance needs.
e
The City has had its coverage from the League of Minnesota
Cities in the past and it is expected that the City will
continue with the League of Minnesota Cities program. The
Leagues's program is the most beneficial to the City as it
offers coverage for the dam and beach which other insurance
companies will not cover. In addition, the League's rates have
been considerably less than those of other insurance companies.
Dan Greene will have additional information for the Council on
Monday night, at which time the Council is asked to authorize
coverage as recommended by Dan. He will also be able to
address any insurance related questions you may have.
