AVENUE AND 4TH STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
Attached is a copy of the final Pay Estimate to Bituminous
Consulting and Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $18,018.96
for work completed on the Holt Avenue and 4th Street
Improvement Project. The total contract amount was
$148,867.88.
Of the final contract amount, $95,848.72 was assessed to
benefitted property owners. Taking into consideration the
contract and project overhead, this leaves the City with a
balance to be funded of approximately $88,000. The City's
portion of this project will be charged to the Capital Projects
Fund.

Terry Maurer has inspected this project, reviewed the Pay
Estimate, and recommends payment to Bituminous Consulting and
Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $18,018.96.

RE: 1993 JACKSON AVENUE SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS
Dear Council Members:
Bids were received and opened at 10:00 a.m. on September 27, 1993, for the above-referenced
project. This project would construct an 8-foot wide concrete and bituminous sidewalk on the
west side of Jackson Avenue from School Street to 190th Avenue. A total of four "bids were
received. Following is a list of the contractors and their bids.

We have worked with Landmark Concrete, Inc., as a subcontractor on several projects within
the City, most recently Proctor Avenue. They have also completed similar work in Ham Lake,
Champlin, and Brooklyn Park.
Jackson Avenue is included in the City's Municipal State Aid System (MSA). Plans have been
submitted to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnD0T) District State Aid Engineer
for review and consideration as to partial funding of this project. As of this writing, notice of
approval has not been received. It is anticipated, however, that approximately $13,000 of the
construction cost would be approved.
Should the City Council wish to utilize MSA funds, award of this project cannot be made until
MnDOT approval is received. Should the City Council choose to fund the project solely with
City funds, award of the project could be made immediately.
