SUBJECT: PREMISE PERMIT RENEWAL FOR
CELEBRITY BOWL CHARITIES, INC.
INTRODUCTION:
Celebrity Bowl Charities, Inc. is requesting a renewal for a
Premise Permit. The renewal would allow the organization to
continue selling pull-tabs at Elk River Bowl. They have been
operating at Elk River bowl for about one year.
BACKGROUND:

As shown on the attachment, Celebrity Bowl Charities, Inc. has
met the City's requirement of spending at least 75% of its
expenditures in the "trade area" which consists of Elk River,
Otsego, Rogers, Zimmerman and Ramsey. The first few months
show -0- expenditures, due to start-up costs. An example of
some of the donations made include $7,000 to Elk River Softball
for a scoreboard and miscellaneous donations to Boy Scout
Troops, Elk River Youth Hockey, burn victims in the Elk River
area, etc.
Celebrity Bowl Charities has met the City requirements for the
pull-tab operation and, therefore, I would recommend that the
Premise Permit be renewed.
ACTION REQUESTED:
The City Council is requested to adopt the attached Resolution
approving the premise permit for Celebrity Bowl Charities, Inc.

RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PREMISE PERMIT
RENEWAL FOR CELEBRITY BOWL CHARITIES, INC.
WHEREAS, Celebrity Bowl Charities, Inc. has made application to
the City Council for a Premise Permit renewal; and
WHEREAS, the premise permit would allow charitable gambling on
the premise; and,
WHEREAS, the premise upon which the gambling will be conducted
is Elk River Bowl.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Elk River grants its approval of a Premise
Permit Renewal to Celebrity Bowl Charities, Inc. for
gambling to be conducted at Elk River Bowl.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River
this 20thday of December, 1993.
