SR 07-10-2006 City of Elk River REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Section Meeting Date Consent ul 10, 2006 Item Description Temporary On Sale Liquor Premises Extension-Fraternal Order of Ea les Item Number 4.5. Prepared by oan Schmidt, Ci Clerk Reviewed by Introduction Temporary premises extension for on sale liquor by Fraternal Order of Eagles for a benefit fundraiser on July 22, 2006. Discussion The Eagles Club is requesting to hold a benefit fundraiser for Pam Wermer with an auction, pig roast dinner, and games. They wish to have their members and guest be allowed to have alcohol outside of their establishment in the parking lot. State law allows for these types of events as long as the area is compact and contiguous to the licensed establishment. The area must be fenced, used for expanded seating, have secure and controlled access, and be covered by liquor liability insurance. The Eagles Club stated they will meet these requirements during the event. A certificate of insurance has been submitted extending liquor liability to the parking lot for this event.
