Introduction
On July 11, the city recei\Ted sealed bids for tlle annual Sealcoating Program. There are fi\le or SL~ street

sustained substantial price increases.

Staff recommends- accepting tlle Allied Blacktop bid for all schedules in order to take ad"vantage of the
best price av'ailable, and to keep up \vith this important street maintenance process. Another necessary
street maintenance process is contractor installed pa\ler laid street patches. The pa\rer patches will be paid
by the ton (so I don't have a fi~ed number) at an estimated cost of $10,000.
Staff increased the 2006 budget for petroleum based products but did not anticipate the current price
le'vels.
Financial Impact
.[\s the Contractual Street Service's budget no,v stands; \ve are short approximately $6,000 for sealcoating,
$4,000 for striping, and $10,000 for the bituminous o\'erlays.
