ANALYSIS

Steve LaTour is requesting a conditional use permit to
construct an agricultural metal skin building located 200 feet
from a neighboring home. The proposed structure will measure
32 X 24 feet (768 square feet). Metal skin buildings are
required to meet a 300 ft. setback from any neighboring
dwelling. The rear of Mr. LaTour's property is heavily wooded,
therefore, will act as a buffer from the neighboring home. Mr.
LaTour has indicated that this structure will be used as a
shelter for his two horses. The memo to the Planning
Commission explaining the request in detail is attached.
PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
At the December 28, 1993, Planning Commission meeting, one
resident did attend the meeting, however, was not opposed to
the project.
RECOMMENDATION
The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the
conditional use permit for Steve LaTour with the following
conditions:
1. THE COLOR OF THE BUILDING BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE
COLOR OF THE EXISTING HOME.
2. THE LOCATION OF THE BUILDING BE CONSISTENT WITH THE
SITE PLAN.

OVERVIEW
Steve LaTour is requesting a conditional use permit to
construct an agricultural metal skin building located 200 feet
from a neighboring home. The proposed structure will measure
32 x 24 feet (768 square feet). Metal skin buildings are
required to meet a 300 foot setback from any neighboring
dwelling. The proposed building will be located to the west of
Mr. LaTour's home. The rear of the property is heavily wooded
and therefore, will act as a buffer from the neighboring home.
Mr. LaTour could construct a 768 square foot building and not
need a c9nditional use permit if the building was constructed
of a non metal material. Mr. LaTour has indicated that this
structure will be used as a shelter for his two horses.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending approval of the conditional use permit to
construct a 768 square foot agricultural metal skin building
within 200 feet of the neighboring dwelling with the following
condition:
