Zerwas, Chief of Police Police Department Subject: AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE POLICE OFFICERS This memo is to inform the city Council that we have completed the hiring process for the positions of police officer. The hiring process consisted of a background investigation, a psychological evaluation, and a medical examination. Both candidates successfully completed all phases of the hiring process. The two (2) candidates that we recommend are Anthony Musatov from Coon Rapids and David Olson from Princeton. Anthony is currently working for the City of Fridley as a Community Service officer; and, David is working for the City of Mendota Heights as a police officer. I am, therefore, requesting authorization to hire both candidates as full-time police officers effective February 21, 1994. These positions would be at the entry level pay scale for police officer. I would like to continue my emploYment with the Elk River Police Department until March 3, 1994. As you probably already know, the decision to leave Elk River was not an easy decision for me. Your leadership has helped me to grow and mature as a police officer, and I know that you have the support of a very competent and professional staff. I am excited about the future of the Elk River Police Department, and I am looking forward to watching the department grow and prosper. e I believe that my decision to accept the State Patrol's offer is in keeping with my personal and career development needs.
